One minute summary:
It would be great for the Shanti Christo Foundation, which has been given the role of publishing the entire teachings of The Way of Mastery, to do so!
To recognize all four aspects of the WOM material, not just a small fraction. And to publish in accordance with directions given by Jeshua, not in ways opposing them.
Now, the longer version
This could be a very long article, and if you don’t know what the title refers to, it is about a "split" in the way two groups have chosen to share The Way of Mastery teachings.
This is a turn off for some people, and if it is for you, I would suggest that it need not be, this type of thing is almost universally common when dealing with high powered spiritual teachings. But if it still is a turn off for you, I would suggest you go spend your time, perhaps, more wisely, and study the things everyone here agrees on, the magnificence of the Jeshua Channelings as found in The Way of the Heart and more.
For those who have a history here, with this issue, or are interested in it, and because Shanti Christo is mentioned so often The Way of Mastery texts, I am sharing this one student's experience with this issue here, hopefully to help the understanding around it for all.
The situation as I see it: The Shanti Christo Foundation is a non-profit designed and started by the channel for The Way of Mastery, Jayem, in the early 1990's. It was given the task of disseminating the teachings of the pathway, and safeguarding the Temple Canyon Sanctuary land in New Mexico until it was time to develop it along lines Jeshua had shared with Jayem at that time.
It functioned as such with Jayem acting in an administrative as well as creative role for many years, until a message was given, in 2002 I believe (I remember getting the cassette in the mail!) through him from "spirit" (not a Jeshua Channeling) that asked him to step away "entirely."
In the context of that time, this can be seen to mean away from any administrative duties, to work with Jeshua on developing another equally essential (but not directly channeled) part of the pathway with Jeshua, what has become known as the Living Practices.
This is the understanding not only of the channel, but for many students who were present at the time (including this one).
But out of context, and time, could be (and I believe is being) seen as meaning Jayem was being asked to absolutely “step aside entirely" from anything to do with things at all.
The various interpretations of this are very, very important!!
The latter interpretation is what I suspect, but do not know for sure (as SCF has refused dialogue on this subject) is what is causing the "two branches" to split. The split, what I believe to be an honest misunderstanding by SCF, resulted in SCF going forward to publish the material in the 2000's, without consent of the channel, and also, though they may not be aware of this, in ways that are not in alignment with directions given by Jeshua.
This continues to this day in the SCF “blue book,” and more. That does not mean, to me at least, that there was NO benefit to this happening. The “blue book” was the only printed version of WOM for years, and I am grateful for that! Also, I was privy to much of what was happening at SCF at the time, and the publishing of the "blue book" (containing 3 of the 5 core texts, slightly edited and abridged) was seemingly divinely guided.
Just as the A Course in Miracles community has seen, however, in the movement from a highly edited "Wapnick" edition of the course being widely spread first, and then there being a progression to the more originally sourced Urtext material, that does it does not mean that the blue book is the final, most accurate, or complete, form of WOM.
Indeed, it is most certainly not.
Jeshua gave through The Way of Mastery channel instructions as to how the publication was to be done, and these expressly said NOT to publish the three course of the trilogy of formal teachings under one cover, as SCF has done. In addition, the original edit and inclusion of chapter headings and so on, as well as deletions or alterations of some of the material brought forth directly from Jeshua, was never approved of by the channel himself.
Thirdly, and perhaps most significantly, the titling of the book as "The Way of Mastery" is misleading, as is presenting the material offered by SCF as the entire pathway.
This presenting of the “part” as the “whole” is nothing less than a recreation of how A Course in Miracles would describe the "dream of separation" as having been created. ie, as a set of false perceptions and experiences, what ACIM calls "a dream," that comes from seeking to see the part as all there is.
Rather, in this student’s experience, of 25 years study of WOM, nine private sessions with Jeshua thru Jayem in the 1990’s and 2000’s, and a close connection with SCF, as well as Jayem, for many years, The Way of Mastery is a pathway of four sections of teachings, living practices and shared purposes.
In other words, The Jeshua Channeled material, which (a part of) is all that SCF shares, is only one of the four essential sections of The Way of Mastery. As the appointed body for publishing the material, we hope they will recognize this, and take action to rectify it as well.
The Jeshua Channelings are a certain form of His teaching, directly spoken. However, ALL of the sections of WOM are created in direct communion with Him, and under His direct guidance.
Yet SCF is currently still presenting (part of) the Jeshua Cchannelings (they do not publish two of the five core texts) as the whole Way of Mastery! And the blue book is not even one-fourth of it!
Imagine being given 20% of a jigsaw puzzle, calling it the whole, and being told that is all, and having to make sense of it (never mind fitting the irregular pieces together!!).
As an example, I often hear people say "oh, we did The Way of Mastery in our study group” - meaning they read an unauthorized, edited and abridged (no Q and A for one thing) form of three of the five core texts, (none of the Early Years, none of the Living Practices, are totally unaware of these, of 80% or so of The Way of Mastery), and cringe a bit!
Not only have these sincere students not "done" it, they don’t even know what it largely consists of! And may think they HAVE done it, and MISS the most powerful spiritual teaching this, and from their testimony, many other students, have ever seen!!
I do believe that the group at SCF is very sincere in what they are doing, however, and my guess is that they are interpreting the "Message" for Jayem to leave as meaning something that it does in no way mean, when seen in full context.
Another example of trying to make the part the whole, and things getting confused!!
And so I am sharing because I was there, and have seen it all unfold, and have no inherent allegiance to either "side." I was close enough to the SCF group at that time, around 2004, to be offered a position on the board there, and one of my close friends was CEO of SCF.
And from all this I believe they are doing what they think is correct, and my sharing here is as much for them as anyone. It is what I would want to know, if I were in their position!
Because the interpretation of what the message meant is very important, as it creates two entirely different perceptions of what is correct regarding moving forward with The Way of Mastery, and we all want to get it right. And we all can only go with what we know, and do our best.
This SCF position, and this is my guess, is that they should focus on the Jeshua Channeled teachings, and sharing them, and avoid Jayem, who was asked to walk away "entirely." That would make total sense from that perspective, subsequent conclusion, and context. Even to the point of not being willing to even TALK with someone who studied with Jayem (me). I get and respect that. It would make sense from what they know. Good work! lol
The other perspective on things would, (and it is that of the channel himself) be that the Jeshua Channelings were largely completed (some private sessions continued for several years) at the time of the “Message,” and he was being asked to step away "entirely" from administrative duties, that his role as channel was largely complete, and now Jeshua was asking him to work with Him on creating a new and equally essential "new" part of The Way of Mastery pathway..
These are mentioned, btw, in The Way of Transformation, in lesson 11, “And,not too far in the distant future, we will be helping to inform Shanti Christo, so that initiatory experiences are offered and provided.”
These Living Practices, as they are now called, are equally essential parts of The Way of Mastery as the channeled works, and deepen them as well .They are a linked part of the WHOLE, without which the other parts do not function with full power, and do not even wholly make sense.
And the question is, how do you know which point of view is true? “SCF” or “Jayem?” I mean, I have shared my view, but I expect you to decide for yourself !! LOL And I don't see any of it as "wrong," for one thing, we wouldn't have these little chats if it hadn't happened :)
But how DO YOU discern? My answer is to get educated as best as possible, information is good.
And I did this, for many year, by experiencing both, being there, and getting all the information I could about all of it, including personal experience. And that is why I am writing this, because I have spent 25 years discerning this question.
This started with seven years or so of WOM study, mixed with annual sessions directly with Jeshua, beginning ins 1995 (the sessions would continue until 2004). And at the time Jayem started creating the Living Practices, again, early 2000's, as his main focus (though they are already present and operating in part in the exercises of the trilogy), I agreed with the SCF position--that is, focus on getting the channeled teachings into the world.
But I also listened and was willing to consider the position of Jayem, who's workshops and trips I was regularly attending, when he talked about the ESSENTIAL nature of the Living Practices to ALL The Way of Mastery.
And over time, my position, which was 50% SCF, and 50% Jayem to start with (and I had already been with Wom for seven years by that time), but over time, as I experienced and saw what was happening with both “sides,” it changed to 98% “Jayem.” And I believe that anyone who was there would have done the same, if they had the same experience.
This is for MANY reasons, but a sufficient one is the power of the Living Practices (and Aramaic Teachings).I could go on for ages about this, but will have mercy on anyone who is still reading this, and simply say that Radical Inquiry, all by itself, (it is one of the core Living Practices) is the most powerful healing modality I have ever seen, and perhaps the most important application of The Way of Mastery pathway teachings.
So, while apparently I have been branded by some (so I am told) an enemy of SCF, for discussing these things, I hope this rather extensive sharing will present my thoughts in "whole" instead of in "part," and bring clarity to my "position."
Simply stated, I believe the SCF crowd to be loyal servants of Jeshua, and are pursuing that with dedication and honesty, but have been put at a disadvantage, and not of their own doing.
They have been shown only part of the whole, and so separating from the channel made sense. But is also separated them from the teachings, and from fulfilling the purpose of SCF as given by Jeshua himself.
My hope is that this testimony will bring some new insights of the pathway, and the willingness for the folks at SCF, as the sincere servants of Jeshua I believe them to be, to take a look at what is shared here, and in doing so, fulfill the role they were given, long ago, to move forward to represent ALL of the teachings Jeshua has brought forth as The Way of Mastery pathway of enlightenment.
As A Course in Miracles teaches us, only part will not do, if enlightenment is the goal!!
blessings to everyone , thank you for listening,
love, xox, Dave Schock
